About Me

Well, my name is Martin. I’m a student studying Music at The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London. I have always had a passion for music. I am a violinist and a percussionist, with my specialties being the drum kit and orchestral snare drum.

My interest in transcribing music came when I watched a video of the Youtuber Sodaorat playing his arrangement of Toki wo Kizamu Uta, which is the opening song to the anime Clannad: After Story, and is originally by the artist Lia. Because I really enjoyed the series, the opening theme had lodged itself in my brain for so long, I HAD to learn it! But I then had the problem that many of you are familiar with! There were NO sheets… so I transcribed it.

It was actually meant to be a one off! But I then came across the Youtuber Marasy, whose piano renditions of both Touhou and Vocaloid music just blew me away! I watched his video of From Y to Y and just had to try learning it. But once again, there were no sheets… But undeterred, I started transcribing the piece. And after it was uploaded for everyone, the view count started to rise slowly. It wasn’t exactly viral, but it was enough for me to realise that there were people out there who were like me -constantly faced by amazing music with no sheets.
